Playback & cues
The player docks at the bottom of the library once you load a track. It's built for prep: preview from cue points, drop hot cues, mark loops, and fix beatgrids.
The player
Double-click a track (or right-click → play) to load it. The player appears at the bottom of the library tab. You can drag its top edge to make it taller, or collapse it to a slim bar. The left side shows the track title, artist, and info chips for BPM, key, and genre, along with a mute button, volume slider, and the current audio output device.
If the output device name is highlighted in amber, Deeper is routing audio to a virtual or loopback device (like BlackHole) and you won't hear anything. Switch your Mac's output back to speakers or headphones.
Transport & navigation
- Play / pause and previous / next track.
- CUE — press and hold to preview from the cue point; release to stop.
- reveal — jumps the library list to the track that's playing.
- Beat jump — buttons for −16, −4, −1, +1, +4, +16 beats.
Hot cues
The player has a pad of eight hot cues, labelled A through H. Click a filled pad to jump to that cue instantly; empty slots are disabled. You set and rename hot cues from the cue editor on the waveform.
The waveform & cue editor
The player's large waveform doubles as a cue editor. With a track loaded:
- Place a memory cue: click an empty spot on the waveform. The cue snaps to the nearest beat.
- Snap resolution: a small toolbar lets you choose off, 1, ½, or ¼ beat snapping.
- Move a cue: drag its marker along the waveform.
- Rename & color: right-click a cue and choose rename / color....
- Promote to a hot cue: right-click a memory cue and choose promote to hot cue, then a slot 1–8. You can also demote to memory.
- Delete: right-click and choose delete.
Loops
Right-click a cue and choose convert to 4-beat loop to turn it into a loop, then drag the loop's right edge to resize it. Click a loop marker to activate it; right-click a loop to release loop or convert it back to a memory cue.
Editing the beatgrid
If a track's grid is off, toggle beat-grid edit mode (the # button on the waveform toolbar). In this mode you can drag horizontally to shift the grid and vertically to adjust the tempo; the current BPM is shown as you work. Use save to keep your changes or revert to discard them.
Hot cues, memory cues, loops, and beatgrids all travel with the track — they sync to your iPhone and can be included when you export to USB or Rekordbox.
